Really good, worth a look
After Eamon at Espresso3121 RIDICULED me for not going here yet, I popped in here before work today, so as to assuage his unrelenting personal and ad hominem attacks (ok, I'll concede, it was just a quick jibe..."what, you call yourself a COFFEE FAN (insert incredulous tone)").
I fumbled around this pocket of Carlton until my nostrils flared at the faint aroma of coffee.
Following my nose, I found Seven Seeds, which is basically in a warehouse, with minimal signage out the front.
Straight away I liked it because they have LOADS of bike racks for cyclists on the wall. This is a minor thing, but shows supreme attention to detail; they're in a very cycle-y area being near Melbourne Uni and the Melb CBD, and there's no room on the footpath. It's this kind of stuff that matters.
Anyway, the place inside is very cool; nice music, well fitted out, uncluttered.
They have a small partitioned (and windowed) room with I think a 4 group Synesso and other stuff so I guess it's for practise? Pretty cool.
I ordered my standard double ristretto and piccolo. The ristretto was excellent. For me, the piccolo was a tiny bit weak, BUT I did still have the strong ristretto taste in my mouth.
Nevertheless, the coffee itself was good, very good.
The food menu is, how you say, interesting. Not quirky, but, it has a certain strange allure to it. I mean, leek, provolone and walnut toastie! I know, right? It sounds -awesome-.
I'll be back for food.
Anyway, Seven Seeds is awesome, check it out.

Excellent latte!
Having heard about the infamous Clover and their great selection of SOs I had to go and check the place out for myself.
I ordered a latte and I wasn't disappointed.
Definitely worth checking out.
