The coffee will blow your head off

Wow. Wow, wow, wow. Omar's roast in house, which I am a fan of, as it gives them free reign to experiment, and gives awesome quality control.

I had what was almost certainly THE BEST RISTRETTO of my life here. Their new single origin Guatemalan (which you can buy in store) - sweet, and so light as to almost render it airy. Creamy, coffee-ish, air in my mouth. It was like angels were in my mouth, fluttering around sprinkling airy coffee dust in my mouth.

Also had a long black, which was a house blend. This was also sweet, light and very delicate. Almost like drinking tea. Ordinarily, drinking long blacks at most places is hard work; they use big, strong, robust coffees that require fortitude. This, however, was utter bliss.

I also ordered the smokey salami and cheese melt. Now I thought this would be a toasted sandwich, but it was an open melt. Probably I should have taken half the salami and cheese off and made a sandwich, but I foolishly ate it all. Thick, generous slices of salami are still reminding me 2 hours later how hardcore a melt that was. Phew. The bread was excellent (I think it's from Noisette in Port Melbourne). Next time I'll get something lighter, which will be easy as the menu is pretty varied, but doesn't have too many things (good, tight focus).

Anyway, this place hands down is THE BEST coffee in Bayside Melbourne.

Definitely worth a look.

Lots of seating (innovative sliding system), excellent fit out, lots to look at.

Will be back.
