Not too bad

A quick review on this place as it had been reviewed previously as Cafe Silk but they have changed names/owners!
Coffee is still from Byron Bay and it was a pleasant coffee but it was by no means excellent. A flat white was slightly too hot, with the milk being watery rather than smooth and silky. The coffee was quite bitter too, with a strong acidity.
Food is excellent, however, and they serve a full range of breakfast options. The only drawback was the potato rosti which wasn't quite cooked in the centre, however, all of the other food was excellent and well cooked!

We enjoyed our meal very much. We are in the month with a Croatian menu, and while we suspected the food might be heavy (which is how we think of Eastern European food) it was not. The chef has balanced the flavours and textures and flavours of croatia with a modern sensibility and though it was filling it was tasty and manageable. There is a different country each month: if they are all as authentic as the meal we had tonight we will be back to widen our experience of world cooking. The wine list is small but good.

great spot for breakfast or lunch!
have been a few times and its always consistently great.
coffee is from coffee supreme, and just the way i like it, full bodied and chocolately! i think they are using the fair trade organic blend.
food is always excellent. the breakies are by far the best in the strip, always runny poached eggs and offer something a little left of centre. last time i had the breaky cassoulet which was brilliant!
service is great too, always friendly, professional and judging by how many customers seem to be known they are good at remembering faces and coffee orders!
great spot which u would be crazy not to try!!
