Just OK (if nothing else around)

Being up on the cliff, this place is in a quiet place in town; most people are down at the beach. Perhaps that explains why this place is so quiet (although it was New Year's Day) and up for sale. It's a 2 story place with the bottom floor being a gallery.
It has some amazing views over the water.
The Lavazza signage drew us in, and it looks pretty nice at first glance. The food menu looks amazing, however, I think much too expensive for this area. Tathra is a bit more family-focussed, so I don't see too many people in town shelling out $22.00 for a penne, no matter how good it is. That's probably why the fish and chip shops opposite the beach do a smoking trade.
Anyway, we had a charming young bright-eyed lass (I sound like my grandfather) serving and at that point I was pretty sure the coffee would not be anything better than passable.
Sadly, I was right. Again the coffee was much too hot, and this drowned out any flavour I might have been able to detect to give a fairer review. However, getting all the elements right is part of the job, so I think my summary is reasonably fair. The beans were ground to order which was good.
I might have to start getting espressos and lattes together to judge these properly.
There's nothing else around in town (that I found), so if you can get the coffee at a reasonable temperature, it might surprise on the upside compared to what you have read here.
5/10 for me.

Really dissapointing, the service is average coffee average.Very expensive for what it is. There is no childrens menu, so we ordered a small salad for a child. Yes we were stung $18!!!!!! What a rip off we wont go back again.
