Really good, worth a look

Quality good
So I like the food at Bay Leaf. Clean, well presented (no photos sorry). I find the wait service can be a bit all over the shop. The owner is pretty full on (nice enough dude) but I think the whole "I'm hungover" thing and so on is a bit unnecessary. Can take a little long for coffee to come out, I suppose though that's due to the small size and popularity. It's also galling when you ask for NO garnish and butter and it STILL comes out. If I ask for no garnish on eggs, I want no garnish on eggs. People ask for this for a reason (i.e. they're allergic). Anyway, this time I ordered a short black. It was a tad too short for mine, but it was SO strong my eyeballs started buzzing - I'm not joking. It was so awesome, I think my spleen might explode thinking about it. I'm not keen on Vitasoy in coffee. I think it has a taste that can ruin a coffee. Bonsoy is a much better choice for a neutral soy. Anyway, this one wasn't too bad. Maybe I should test these as a cow's milk latte? Or just a short black. I'd really love it if someone did noisettes.

Still solid
First up. No-one should swear when working behind a counter. It's poor form. Hearing the eff word when kids are around is not cool. Ok? Ok. Having gotten that out of the way...
Bayleaf is still good. Coffee, good. Food, good. You won't be let down.
Corn fritters are currently divine. Avoid the avocado salsa (it has raw Spanish onion, blerrrrt) and opt for straight avo instead.
Cash only! There's a Bank of Queensland 2 minutes away, head 1 block toward the beach, it's right there on the corner. It's opposite the pizza place.

Always so bloody busy!
The ONLY thing that annoys me is (well there are two things).
1. They don't capacity plan orange juice properly, so they run out. And their fresh OJ is delicious.
2. ALWAYS SO BLOODY BUSY. Ok, yes, they're successful and good but seriously? The chairs and tables now extend 4 shops up and next I'll be sitting in the gutter with a jumper-cum-cushion. Madness.
In any case, best coffee in Byron handsdown. I like their corn fritters (not as good as mine though sorry guys) too.
